Michelle Bishop, Vice President
Michelle Bishop, vice president, leads the interactive services practice where she works with clients in using interactive media to effectively reach their goals. With a background in technology and communications, Bishop works to facilitate understanding and bring together the necessary stakeholders to create successful online programs from strategy to outcomes. She has the capacity to identify client technology and communications needs, articulate technical jargon into a language that lay people can understand and ensure quality delivery.
Bishop has worked with Collaborative as a consultant on several projects for the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) including the National Educator Training and Leadership Center and a portal on Secondary School Redesign. In both cases she served as a central point of communication and sometimes translation between technical and content related discussions. Bishop also provided project management and multi-vendor facilitation services on projects for the National Art Education Association (NAEA) and the National Association of Elementary School Principles (NAESP).
Prior to joining Collaborative, Bishop founded and led two interactive communications consulting firms, Bishop Communications and InkSpot Media. InkSpot Media, a web design and development firm specialized in providing quality web design to non-profit customers. Later, working as Bishop Communications, she worked with non-profits and associations providing Internet strategy, project management, multi-vendor facilitation and general capacity building for clients. In both enterprises, she built her expertise in identifying, scoping and managing client needs through project facilitation, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
Bishop holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom and a bachelor’s degree in political communication and speech communication from the George Washington University in Washington, DC.
