Rebecca Sivy, Senior Associate
Rebecca Sivy, senior associate, utilizes a variety of services including design, management, facilitation, documentation, and evaluation to maximize impact for virtual and in-person learning communities, as well as improve the effectiveness of organizations.
In her current projects, she manages a team to ensure Baltimore City Public Schools’ communication department has the necessary supports in strategic messaging, aligned branding and effective online communications. Rebecca also provides strategic guidance to convening teams on materials development and effective onsite execution of events from small local meetings to large annual conferences.
Her network development experience includes the National Academy Foundation (NAF)’s 2011 and 2010 Conferences. She assisted with the strategic planning and logistics management, as well as special events and plenary sessions design and development. For the National Afterschool Association, Rebecca led workshop selection and provided speaker management at the 2011 Convention, provided site visit support at the 2010 Convention, and managed the help desk at registration at the 2009 Convention. She has also supported to logistics, registration, social media and onsite engagement at National Network of Statewide Afterschool Networks’ National Meeting in 2011, funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
Her previous experiences include supporting the efforts for local education funds, school districts and United Ways. In Jacksonville, Florida, she supported the strategic thinking for Jacksonville Public Education Fund’s “Learning to Finish” campaign as it transitions into the implementation phase, as well as the organizational planning to launch the One in Three Campaign to engage the community. In Collier County, Florida, she supported the strategic planning process for the school district. In Richmond, Virginia, she drafted and edited a five-year education agenda for the United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg’s Education Task Force.
Before joining Collaborative, Rebecca was a program director for a local YMCA in Louisville, Ohio. She holds a Master's degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor's degree with distinction in political science and Italian from the University of Michigan.
